How to Erase the Background of a Picture in Google Slides

In today’s digital age, creating visually appealing presentations is crucial for effective communication. One of the key elements of a great presentation is the use of high-quality images. However, sometimes the background of an image can distract from the message you want to convey. If you’re using Google Slides and need to remove the background of a picture, follow these simple steps to achieve a professional-looking result.

Step 1: Open Google Slides and Insert the Image

To begin, open your Google Slides presentation and navigate to the slide where you want to insert the image. Click on the “Insert” button in the menu bar and select “Image.” Choose the image you want to use from your device or from the web.

Step 2: Select the Image

Once the image is inserted into your slide, click on it to select it. This will enable you to access the editing tools.

Step 3: Open the Image Editor

With the image selected, click on the “Edit” button that appears on the top menu. This will open the Image Editor, which allows you to make various adjustments to the image.

Step 4: Use the Background Eraser Tool

In the Image Editor, click on the “Background Eraser” tool. This tool is designed to remove the background from an image. Click and drag the tool across the background area you want to erase. The tool will automatically detect and remove the background, leaving the subject of the image intact.

Step 5: Refine the Edges

After using the background eraser tool, you may notice some areas where the background is still visible. To fix this, click on the “Refine” button in the Image Editor. This will allow you to manually adjust the edges of the subject and remove any remaining background.

Step 6: Save and Insert the Image

Once you’re satisfied with the background removal, click on the “Save” button in the Image Editor. The image will be saved with the new background removed. Now, you can click on the “Insert” button in the top menu to add the image back to your slide.

Step 7: Adjust the Image Position and Size

After inserting the image back into your slide, you can adjust its position and size as needed. Use the drag handles to move the image to the desired location and click on the corner handles to resize the image.

By following these simple steps, you can easily erase the background of a picture in Google Slides and create visually appealing presentations. Remember to experiment with different background removal techniques to achieve the best results for your specific needs. Happy presenting!
