A nightmare at Green Lake

A nightmare at Green Lake was a chilling experience that left me forever changed. Located in the heart of the city, Green Lake Park is usually a serene and picturesque place. However, on that fateful night, it transformed into a place of horror and dread.

It all started when I decided to take a late-night walk around the lake. The moon was high in the sky, casting a eerie glow over the park. The trees seemed to whisper secrets, and the wind howled through the branches. I felt a strange sense of unease, but I pushed it aside, thinking it was just my imagination.

As I walked along the path, I noticed a group of people gathered near the lake’s edge. They were whispering among themselves, their faces illuminated by the flickering glow of a fire. I approached them cautiously, curious about what was going on.

“Are you okay?” I asked, my voice trembling.

One of the group members turned to me, his eyes wide with fear. “We’re not supposed to be here,” he stammered. “Something… something is wrong.”

Before I could respond, a chilling scream echoed through the park. The group scattered, running towards the exit. I followed them, my heart pounding in my chest. As we reached the exit, we were greeted by a sight that would haunt my dreams forever.

A shadowy figure emerged from the darkness, its eyes glowing red. It moved with a unnatural grace, its presence chilling the air. The group members cried out in terror, but it was too late. The shadowy figure lunged at me, its claws finding no hold in the concrete path.

In a panic, I ran as fast as I could, the shadowy figure hot on my heels. The park seemed to stretch on forever, and I was running out of breath. Just as I thought I was going to collapse, I stumbled upon a small, hidden entrance to the park.

I pushed through the entrance, my heart pounding in my chest. As I emerged from the darkness, I was greeted by the sight of a police officer. He looked at me with concern.

“What happened?” he asked.

I took a deep breath, trying to compose myself. “There was a… a monster in the park. It chased me.”

The officer nodded, his eyes filled with determination. “We’ll investigate this. You did the right thing by coming forward.”

As I left the park, I couldn’t shake the feeling that Green Lake had become a place of nightmares. The once serene park had been transformed into a place of horror, and I knew that I would never be able to look at it the same way again.
